One of the Caesarea Ralli 1 halls houses an archeological exhibition, "Herod's Dream", presenting the different periods of the city of Caesarea: Hellenistic, Roman, Byzantine, Islamic and the crusades. This exhibition was produced in 1984 by the Smithsonian Institute and was presented in the US and Canada between 1988 and 1989.
The exhibition features the different stages of the life and work of archeologists and how they record their findings. Of special interest is the work done to document Herod's port, Sebastos, according to a precise description by Josefo Flavio. This exhibition can well serve as an introduction to a visit of the old city of Caesarea.
