"Calder: Motion studies" is the name of the Museum´s new hall where graphic works of this outstanding North American artist are exhibited. The hall boasts nineteen lithographs and one canvas, all part of a larger collection. In them you can perceive the radical and geometrical abstractions, the colors and movement, and the strong influence of European masters like Joan Miró, Jean Arp and Piet Mondrian.
Calder is internationally recognized for his sculptures, made of brass with wire and steel plates. In this exhibit, however, we exhibit his less known side. Here the same lightness is achieved with one single stroke, but the geometric elements are more organic, thus closer to the world of nature.
